It has been a "Bittersweet" year to say the least for American Idol alum and R&B superstar Fantasia Barrino -- and in an exclusive video interview with RadarOnline.com she declares: "I'm just thankful to be here."
We caught up with Fantasia Wednesday as she stopped by Millions of Milkshakes at Westfield Culver City with her nine-year-old daughter, Zion Quari.
"I'm good, I've got my daughter with me," the 26-year-old told RadarOnline.com when asked how she's coping day-to-day after being embroiled in a cheating scandal which culminated with our bombshell revelation that she aborted her married lover's child.
"I don't pay attention to anything else other than Zion."
RadarOnline.com recently obtained an exclusive audio recording of the singer testifying in court that she aborted the child of her married lover Antwaun Cook around the time of her failed suicide attempt this past August.
She made the sensational confession in a North Carolina court on Monday during Cook's divorce proceeding with his ex-wife Paula.
In the recording, Fantasia insists that she does not remember exactly when she had the abortion but eventually admits it was close to August. That is when she attempted to kill herself with an overdose of aspirin after reading a court complaint filed by Paula that painted Fantasia as a home wrecker.
The singer has acknowledged she dated Cook "off and on for about 11 months" but said she believed he had separated from his wife.
Moving forward and with Thanksgiving Thursday, Fantasia says "well, I won't be with my family but I do have my daughter and I'm just thankful to be here."
