What was meant to be a fun-filled New York City vacation with his ex-wife Denise Richards and their children ended poorly when Charlie Sheen was transported to the hospital after an incident with a prostitute in his hotel room. RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that family members were surprised by the news and thought Sheen was under some type of supervision.

“I thought Charlie was being watched,” said a family member of the 45-year old actor.

“It’s a shame that his personal manager Marc Burg wasn’t taking care of him. Evidently he has no control and can’t manage him,” added the family member.

On Monday night, Sheen went berserk and trashed his hotel room at The Plaza Hotel before police were called. He was then transported by ambulance to a hospital.

The prostitute, who was with Sheen, flipped out Monday night and had to be hospitalized, has told people that Sheen was using cocaine, RadarOnline.com learned exclusively.

“The prostitute says Charlie was using cocaine,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “She said after he did the coke, he flipped out, couldn’t find his wallet and accused her of stealing it.”

Family members are disappointed about the latest development. Sheen has battled alcoholism and an addiction to crack and only completed rehab a short two months ago.

Although Sheen’s representative had no comment concerning his management, he had a different explanation for the incident that occurred at the hotel and told RadarOnline.com: "What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital, where is expected to be released tomorrow."
