Supermodel Naomi Campbell suffered a bad hair day -  to say the least - on a New York fashion shoot after she revealed a huge bald patch underneath her luscious long wig, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Onlookers were left stunned on Monday after Campbell - who is known for throwing temper tantrums – showed the true extent of her vanishing hairline.

They got a peek of her horrible hair condition as she held her tresses back while a stylist adjusted her clothes at the shoot for designer Dennis Basso.

It appears the 40-year-old is suffering from a condition known as ‘traction alopecia’ which is associated with braiding, weaving and extensions.

The tight traction can cause hair breakage and other celebrities like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Victoria Beckham, have all suffered from it in the past.

Despite her hair woes, Campbell seemed oblivious as she struck a sexy pose at a gas station in the Meatpacking District of New York.

Campbell wore a green swimsuit and also paraded a series of fur coats; The supermodel campaigned for animal rights group PETA (People For Ethical Treatment Of Animals) in the nineties but has  apparently  had a change of heart about wearing fur.
