Dr. Oz and Ellen DeGeneres were among the big winners at Sunday night's Daytime Emmy Awards held at the Las Vegas Hilton, taking home the best talk show host and best entertainment talk show awards respectively, and RadarOnline.com has the scoop for you.
While neither of the talk show victors were in attendance to collect their trophies, there was plenty of bittersweet emotion on hand from As The World Turns stars Michael Park and Maura West, who accepted the best actor and best actress awards as the longtime soap opera was recently canceled after a 53-year run.
"We had to say goodbye to over 60 members of our family on Wednesday," Park said. "It was heartbreaking, and I pray you never have to endure what we endured on Wednesday. I can't think of a better way to say goodbye to a 13-year run on a 53-year-old show than this right here. Thank you so much."
American Bandstand legend Dick Clark was also honored for his magnificent career with a tribute to his iconic music franchise with performances from Tony Orlando, Chubby Checker and Marie Osmond.
Paying tribute to the New Year's Eve legend, Simon Cowell said that "without Bandstand, without Dick, there would be no American Idol."
