Move over, Monkees! There's a new act coming to town!
Island Def Jam records is holding a major talent search for 1 lucky girl to become fictional 12 year-old Mackenzie Blue, the lead character in a new book franchise that tags along with the aspiring pop star and her middle school friends on their escapades.
"I am thrilled with the opportunities that are presented by this partnership with Island Def Jam," first-time author Tina Wells told press.
"The company truly understands the world of Mackenzie Blue and the potential of following her young character's aspirations to become a music star as the books develop."
A "Blue" tour and EP are expected with release of the 1st Mackenzie Blue book in May.
