Luann De Lesseps Prepares Nightclub Comeback After Arrest Scandal
Luann de Lesseps is ready to dive back into show business after her embarrassing arrest late last year.
The Real Housewives of New York star has told The New York Times that she's focusing on her New York cabaret show, "#CountessAndFriends," and trying to put her legal woes behind her.
"Obviously it was a really bad night for me and something I am not proud of," de Lesseps said.
"The important thing is to not take yourself so damn seriously. I always think, 'I can survive this if I keep on moving.'"
De Lesseps, 52, was arrested on Christmas Eve day, Dec. 24, in Palm Beach, Florida, early in the morning. She was charged with battery on an officer, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and crimes against a person.
In her drunken state, de Lesseps even told cops she would kill them!
January, she pleaded not guilty to one felony (resisting an officer with violence) and two misdemeanors (trespassing and disorderly intoxication). A hearing has been set for April 13.
The housewife checked into rehab, saying she was "truly embarrassed" about her trouble with the law.

But she got out and last week, de Lesseps told The New York Times it was full speed ahead on her singing act!
The reality star struggled to remember her lines for the show this Tuesday, Feb. 27, saying, "I am not a scripted actress — I'm more of an off-the-cuff-type person."
The cabaret show will debut at the Manhattan nightclub Feinstein's/54 Below -- and it's sold out.

De Lesseps revealed what her jokes might include, saying, "I had a list of songs I wanted to sing tonight, but as it turns out I am reconsidering some of them — like 'Jailhouse Rock' and 'I Fought the Law and the Law Won.'"
She's also expected to do the Patsy Cline song, "Crazy," and quip, "for thinking I could get out of those handcuffs."
"I can't avoid the whole story of what happened to me in Palm Beach," said de Lesseps, who is attending AA. "I'm trying to keep it light while also taking it seriously."
De Lesseps revealed her second divorce, from Tom D'Agostino Jr., was what sent her on a downward spiral.
The Countess self-medicated with alcohol, she told the NY Times.
Explaining her arrest on Twitter, De Lesseps recalled, "This was my first time in Palm Beach since my wedding and being here brought up buried emotions."
This week, De Lesseps will be performing with famed musical director Billy Stritch.
She said her mom and two kids will be in the audience and added, "That I get to come back and have something creative to sink my teeth into has been really helpful for me, because it's been a rocky road, the past two years."
