Leah Messer's ex-husband Jeremy Calvert is eager to take his daughter hunting, but is he teaching her too young? Fans are slamming the Teen Mom 2 star for allowing his 3-year-old daughter to hold a rifle twice her size.

"She said daddy, lets go hunting and shoot a coyote," he captioned the disturbing Instagram photo. "Better watch out boys she won't miss."

Fans slammed Calvert, who is currently engaged to fiancée Brooke Wehr, for allowing Adalynn to hold a gun.

"I would never let a child hold a gun," a user slammed. "Even unloaded. I'm all for hunting and providing food for your family. But this is so wrong in so many ways."

Another fired, "Accidents happen all the d**n time. It's totally different when they're of age and they have the proper training, but even adults, officers, trained professionals make mistakes. Hope they think twice before someone gets hurt."

Although Calvert assured fans the gun was "unloaded," he wasn't in the clear.

"This time it's not loaded, what about next time she thinks it's okay to grab it and you actually have forgotten to unload it," a commenter said. "'Let me take a picture of my baby daughter holding a gun.' What an idiot!"

Luckily for Calvert, he has supporters who commended him for teaching his daughter about gun safety.

"Kids do accidentally shoot people and that is because parents do not teach them gun safety," a fan defended. "Their curiosity gets the best of them, educate yourself!"
