Donald Trump just announced a major shakeup within his campaign, firing a campaign manager who fueled complaints of selfishness and lack of teamwork within the operation.

Corey Lewandowski is out. "The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican Primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign," Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks said on Monday. "The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future."

The New York Times reported that Lewandowski had a "hostile relationship" with members of the press corps covering Trump and was at odds with several officials in the Republican National Committee.

Within Trump's campaign, Lewandowski had a troublesome relationship with Trump's chief strategist, Paul Manafort, who also hired him. Lewandowski allegedly blocked Manafort from hiring others or would undo previous hirings, sparking complaints that Lewandowski was not a team player.

A senior aide with the campaign told ABC News that Lewandowski's firing "was a long time coming" and that the campaign "needed to get everyone on the same page."

Lewandowski was dismissed while at a campaign meeting in Trump Tower on Monday morning.
