Splitsville: Christie Brinkley & John Mellencamp Break Up After One Year Together

Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp have gone their separate ways, and RadarOnline.com has the exclusive details.
The supermodel and singer first met at a Hamptons party in 2015, where they were instantly attracted to one another, bonding over their shared love of family (Brinkley is a mother to three, while Mellencamp has five children and six grandchildren ).
Sadly, after just one year of dating, the pair has split, their rep confirms.
"Both the mileage between their homes and their heavy career demands interfered with their ability to maintain the relationship," a spokesperson for the former couple told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "They vowed to remain best of friends."
The breakup may have been a long time coming, however. Just months ago, sources told RadarOnline.com that Mellencamp was ready to tie the knot, but Brinkley had her doubts.
"You never really know what's going to happen," she previously told PEOPLE magazine of the relationship. "John and I are two people that have very full lives. We're just trying to enjoy each other when we can see each other and try not to put too much pressure on it."
