The Nashville star took a break on a doorstep in New York to read a book and puff on a cigarette — but it was glaringly obvious that Panettiere ditched her engagement ring for the outing.

The actress, engaged to pro fighter Wladimir Klitschko, originally entered a treatment center last October.

Months before seeking treatment the first time around, Panettiere spoke candidly on the topic, sharing: "It's something a lot of women experience. When you are told about postpartum depression, you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child; I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never, ever had those feelings. Some women do."

"The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life," she explained to fans the second time she went to rehab. "Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!"
