After Britney Spears shocked the world by delivering the performance of her lifetime at this year's Billboard Music Awards, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the pop princess believes she is finally ready to stand on her own!
According to a source close to Spears, 34 – who has been under the court-ordered conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears since her infamous meltdown in 2009 – "Britney is in machine mode right now and she is determined to get back complete control of her life."
"She has never been so determined to take the crown back and this performance was just the beginning," said the insider.
However, as RadarOnline.com reported, while the mother of two sons from ex-husband Kevin Federline, 38 – Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, 9 – continues to perform in her Las Vegas "Piece of Me" residency, she has been facing down a lawsuit from her former friend, Sam Lutfi.
"Britney has really been going through it mentally with this whole trial thing," the source told RadarOnline.com.

"She says she wants nothing more than to move on from all of this mess, but her past keeps coming back to haunt her!"
Meanwhile, according to the insider, her life is still carefully controlled in many ways.
According to the insider, "Not many people know this, but the most mundane things that we take for granted, such as using our cell phone as we want to, are forbidden for Britney."
"Her phone calls and texts are monitored and she cannot even go into the Apple Store to download apps because of her conservatorship!"
"She clearly does not have her freedom yet and she is ready to take back control of her life," the insider added.
