Lisa Marie Presley's Overdose Hell — Elvis' Daughter 'Squandered Fortune' On Drugs

The horrifying depths of Lisa Marie Presley's battle with substance abuse — which included hospitalization, claims of an overdose and rehab can today be exposed.

According to an insider close to the nasty divorce, 49-year-old Presley has been suffering from her demons for quite some time — and they're taking a drastic toll.

"The last time she was in the hospital she was pretty bad off," said the source. "But she's been doing this for years."

Though Presley and her estranged ex, Michael Lockwood, are engaged in a bitter divorce battle and custody war over their 8-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley, the source said he once tried to save the star from her toxic substance abuse issues that included, at its worst, a near overdose.

"He tried to help her, he tried to talk to her," said the source, "but it would just get worse and worse."

Out of desperation, Lockwood, 55, even attempted to trick Presley into leading a healthier lifestyle.

"He would try to get her get her out on tour, and just write some songs and get her involved with something in her life," explained the source.

Sadly, he failed miserably and Presley allegedly squandered a fortune on drugs, said the source.

Now Presley's issues could become a hot-button topic in the couple's court cases since Lockwood might use her messy past against her.

"Michael took pictures of Lisa Marie when she was naked and out of it," a family insider previously told Radar.

Presley, who checked into a California treatment facility for an addiction to alcohol and drugs last summer, was "on pills and sleeping all the time" before her split from Lockwood, the source continued.

"It's leverage that Michael can hold over her head. This could well impact what happens to the twins, and she is very frightened."
