Collin’s Hell! Kate Gosselin Admitted She ‘Spanked’ Troubled Son Years Before Treatment

Fed up with his “special needs,” Kate Gosselin sent her troubled son Collin to a treatment facility nearly two hours away from the family home, RadarOnline.com recently revealed. Though she claimed she feels “good” about his current treatment, the Kate Plus 8 star, 41, has many regrets about how she handled his past behavior. In Robert Hoffman’s book of her private diary entries, Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, the author revealed journal entries in which the controversial single mom admitted to getting “too rough” with her little boy in several scary incidents.

When problem child Collin misbehaved and refused to sit in the corner, Kate confessed she was “absolutely awful” with the little boy, then just 2 years old, and got “too rough” with him in front of his sisters. “I feel so guilty that I treated him like that,” she wrote in a September 5, 2006 entry. “I will set out tomorrow to be a better mommy.”
Just four months later on January 2, 2007, Kate caught Collin spilling a bag of beans and knocking over high chairs— and absolutely flipped! “I was instantly so SO angry, that I grabbed him and spanked him as hard as I could and thought I may seriously injure him so I sent him to his crib til Jon came home!” wrote the star, then married to ex-husband Jon, 39. “I have never felt that I may seriously injure a child but today was that day!”

She continued by venting about his “temper” problems. “I don’t like that he doesn’t know how to handle his frustration and anger,” Kate wrote.

In May 2007, Kate admitted she “crossed the line” when Collin, then barely 3, and siblings Alexis and Joel devoured a bag of M&Ms. “I pulled Collin up by the hair and I spanked them so hard!” she wrote.

“I saw my dad in myself today and that really scares me!” Kate continued. “Lord, I am begging you to help me be a loving, caring, kind and slow to anger mommy. Please stop me somehow from hurting my kids.”

Kate has been accused of getting physical with her kids in the past. As RadarOnline.com revealed in March 2015, Jon told the custody court that the explosive mother would leave “large red welts” on the children after spankings.

According to reports, she was investigated by Pennsylvania Children Services for allegedly abusing Collin in early 2015, though she was never charged with a crime.

The corporal punishment method didn’t seem to work out for Kate, as the troubled boy is now worse than ever.
