The Robertson family of Duck Dynasty have won over millions of fans with their unaffected, genuine attitude and behavior. But much of what fans see on the smash A&E series is totally fake -- and patriarch Phil Robertson is the first to admit it!

Robertson confessed how TV editors in L.A. "with no moral compass" distort his family's reality in a recent video interview for The Christian Post.

"They inserted fake beeps like somebody had used profanity, but no one had used profanity," he explained. "…So I asked those guys who produce the show, I said, 'Lemme ask you something. What's the point of the fake bleeps?'"

Robertson claims the camera crew blamed the change on "15 or 20 editors" in L.A. "They're the ones arranging the scenes," Robertson says. "Well, they're the ones that said, 'You know, I think it'd be cool here to maybe make it look like they're cursing.'"

"Of course these people thought there was some profanity going on,"  the proud Christian says. "There was zero."

"If you want that, you can get all of that you want," he complained. "Just turn the station. There's plenty of that! And if we're not using profanity, why make it look like we're using profanity? What is the point? Why don't you just run it and say what we say?"

Eventually, he says, producers finally listened to him "and they quit doing that."

But soon there was another sticking point in what Robertson calls the "spiritual warfare" between the family and their editors.

"The other thing was, when we prayed we said 'In Jesus' name, Amen,'" Robertson reveals. "…And they would just have me say 'Thank you Lord for the food. Thank you for loving us. Amen.' So I said, 'Why would you cut out 'In Jesus' name'?'"

"They said, 'Well, those editors are probably doing that,'" Robertson explains. "And they just think that, you know, they don't want to maybe offend some of the Muslims or something."

Robertson raised complaints, and after arguing with A&E, he says, "I noticed now, every once in a while they're leaving it in there."

"You gotta remember, it's spiritual warfare," he says of filming the show. "I mean, you've got people with no moral compass. It ain't there. So what I tell people is be patient."

"They're the ones, they own the network and we're filming the show," he continues. "We signed the contract with them, ok, and it's a workhouse, but what people have to understand is, the people of God have to understand, you've just got to be patient. You don't turn that ship quickly. It's a big ship. A lot of depravity and a lot of heathen and a lot of the evil one. He is entrenched in the United States."
