Jenelle Evans' quest to obtain custody of her oldest son Jace has been stalled as the hearing was continued in a North Carolina court on Wednesday, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The 23-year-old Teen Mom 2 star is fighting her own mother, Barbara Evans, to regain primary custody of her first child, but the case was postponed to next month.
"The April date is just another calendar hearing and that will likely be pushed forward too," the source told Radar.
Barbara has cared for Jace, 5, since he was born, but she recently refused to allow her daughter to take him to the movies, earning the wrath of the MTV star.
Focusing on the future, however, Jenelle's strategy to regain custody depends on her own situation, the source explained.
"Jenelle plans to show that she and Nathan have a stable home life and that it would be good for Jace when he lives with them," the insider said. "She needs to show the court that she and Nathan have a solid relationship and that their home would be a safe and comforting place for Jace to live."
