Vicki Gunvalson expressed her sadness over the troubling turn for on-again, off-again love Brooks Ayers following his diagnosis of “aggressive and fast-moving” stage 3 cancer.
"I am very sad about the recent diagnosis of Brooks's cancer reoccurrence," she told People Thursday. "It really puts life in perspective and makes you realize how important health, family and friends are during this time.
The Real Housewives of Orange County lynchpin, 52, thanked fans and well-wishers “for respecting his privacy and for all your thoughts and prayers for Brooks during this time."
As RadarOnline.com was first to report, Ayers was initially diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma a year ago; following the recent developments, the embattled reality beau told RadarOnline.com Thursday he’s “determined to fight this horrible disease and am surrounded by love and support from people who truly care about me.”
“Life is funny sometimes; sometimes it is not,” Ayers told RadarOnline.com. “Let me assure you that I am going to remain positive and continue to battle this disease vigorously with much tenacity along with seeking the appropriate medical care.”
Gunvalson, nicknamed “The O.G. from the O.C.” by Bravo’s Andy Cohen, has been involved with Ayers since 2011, shortly after her 2010 split from longtime husband Donn.
