The first big goof of the Super Bowl was not committed by the Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers.
No, credit the first mistake to Christina Aguilera who botched the lyrics to the national anthem!
Sure the players were nervous as the success of an entire season came down to 60 minutes of football.
But Aguilera recently stated she’s been singing the national anthem since she was a little girl – so no one expected her to goof!
The singer’s mistake happened on the fourth line, which should have been: “O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?”
Instead, Christina sang: “What so proudly we (garbled) at the twilight’s last gleaming.”
Believe it, everyone, because it will live forever on video!
“I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true,” Aguilera said before the big game.
Well, she still looked and sounded great!
