Ron Goldman was at the wrong place at the wrong time when he was stabbed to death alongside Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994. The National ENQUIRER investigates who Goldman was and how he ended up at Simpson's Brentwood home the night of the infamous murder.

Goldman never succumbed to the seedier side of life in the City of Angels. He rarely ever drank, never took drugs and kept to a strict, low-fat diet.

He dated California girls, a couple of them seriously, and dreamed of one day owning his own restaurant or bar. Back home such an idea would have been unfeasible. Living in the wealthy Brentwood enclave west of Los Angeles, anything seemed possible.

Luck appeared to have smiled on Goldman. What was even more impressive was that he didn't take it for granted.

He knew he was leading a privileged life, even if he didn't have an awful lot of money. He was 25. Financial security, he and his pals assured one another, would come later.

He made more friends working at Brentwood's California Pizza Kitchen and did some part-time modeling work before moving to wait tables at the more fashionable Mezzaluna, a favorite with the well-heeled Westside crowd.

On his way to work he would stop at a neighborhood Starbucks and sometimes chat with an attractive blonde with an Akita dog who would sit on a wall outside the coffee shop.

She'd occasionally let him drive her white Ferrari, and he discovered she was the ex-wife of the football player O.J. Simpson.

"Don't worry about it," he told his buddies. "We're just friends."

On the night of his death, the blonde had eaten at Mezzaluna, but phoned the restaurant later to say a pair of glasses had been left behind.

"Could someone please drop them off at her home?" she asked.

Goldman volunteered even though she wasn't at one of his tables. He would put off his after-work plans and deliver the glasses.

Some would speculate later Goldman and Simpson were having an affair. Others insist he was just doing what nice guys do and helping out a friend. Either way, right up to that night, Ron had always seemed to find himself in the right place at the right time. But his luck was about to change in the most horrific manner imaginable.
