Redmond O'Neal has been sentenced to state prison for three years, RadarOnline.com has learned, after he admitted to violating terms of his probation stemming from a felony heroin drug possession conviction.

The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal had a warrant issued for his arrest on April 3. He was arrested by Culver City Police Department, and was being held at the jail on no bail at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

After he finally admitted to violating his probation on July 10, Judge Keith Schwartz, sentenced the troubled Hollywood heir to state prison for three years. He did get credit for 302 days served, however.

Redmond has battled an addiction to heroin for most of his adult life, and has been to rehab multiple times.

In 2014, while still on probation from the felony heroin possession, Redmond relapsed, and admitted it to the court.
