Prince Autopsy Under Way! Medical Examiner Reveals Findings So Far — Was It Drugs?

Less than 24 hours after Prince's sudden death at age 57, his autopsy began today at 9 am local time in Minnesota. Martha Weaver, the spokesperson for the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, told RadarOnline.com what fans can expect from the findings.

"We will do a complete examination and it will include current medical condition, medical history, social history , relevant information about his family's medical history as well," Weaver told RadarOnline.com. "Anything that can contribute to to relevancy of this investigation will be used in determining the cause and manner of death."

She refused to say if foul play or drugs were involved in the death, but said, “We have no information at this time. We will examine every aspect of it."

The autopsy will involve a physical exam and toxicology, and is expected to last two to three hours. Once complete, officials then will release a full report within several weeks.

After the exam, Weaver said the body will be released later today to a funeral home.

When asked if his family made any sort of religious requests she said, “The staff inside the office are working very closely with the family and representatives of mr. Nelson and I don't have any details of those conversations."

As RadarOnline.com reported, Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate on the morning of April 21. Frantic efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
