The Turpins And Duggars Both Chose 'J' Names For All Their Kids

David and Louise Turpin were reportedly arrested for torturing their 13 children in a case that's shocked the nation.
And in an odd twist, they have something quirky in common with the parents of another large clan, the Duggars.
Newsday has reported that all of the Turpin family children's names begin with the letter J, according to court documents that didn't provide their full names.
As 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fans know, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar named all their kids starting with the letter J, including Josh, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy Anna, to honor their dad's first name.
Although the huge TV family has had scandals of its own, including Josh being accused of child molestation, when he was a minor, it's nothing compared to the shocking alleged misdeeds of David and Louise Turpin.
On Thursday, the Turpin parents pleaded not guilty to charges of torture, child abuse and a "lewd act on a child," in a Riverside, Calif. court.
David and Louise were charged with holding their 13 children—who range in ages from 2 to 29-- hostage and keeping them "chained" to furniture as they staved and beat them in their home.
David Turpin was charged with one count of "lewd act on a child by force or fear or duress," and DA Michael Hestrin explained the "Lewd act is in reference to a lewd act that David Turpin touched one of the victims in a lewd way by force or fear." He confirmed that the victim was a female.
Twelve counts of torture were filed against both parents. "We are not charging torture on the two-year-old," the DA said at a press conference. "I don't know why but apparently the two-year-old was getting enough to eat."
The Turpin kids allegedly were only allowed to shower twice a year and eat once a day in the filthy house of horrors.
David and Louise are being held in jail on millions of bail.
