Did Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott fake their infamous cheating scandal?
McDermott's ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, sure thinks they did!
In an exclusive video interview with RadarOnline.com, the celebrity chef, 53, confirms reports she originally included a chapter speculating on the reality TV couple's affair fakery in her new book, Scared Wheatless.
"I wrote that chapter about a year and a half ago, when all the reality show stuff was going on. It was kind of a comical chapter, like a week in the life," she told RadarOnline.com on camera. "People would come to our door, knock at four in the afternoon and say, 'Is Dean a sex addict?' It was just a bizarre time."
In December 2013, Us Weekly claimed to have caught McDermott in a sordid tryst with a 28-year-old Toronto native named Emily Goodhand while shooting Chopped Canada in the Ottawa city. The father of five, 49, went to rehab in the emotional aftermath, which was all filmed or the family's Lifetime reality show, True Tori.
According to Eustace, the many details of the affair, including Goodhand's complete absence from the public eye, just didn't add up.
"It just seemed like it was not true," she said. "It was just pretty hilarious, because apparently what I heard was that the press was so bad for her, she had to leave Toronto and go to Paris and start a life all over again. Which made no sense to me. And you know those mistresses, when they come out of the woodwork, they get a vodka deal or something happens. They leverage it. It just made absolutely no sense."
She also claims she had friends at the party where McDermott and the mysterious Goodhand allegedly met.
"People were at the party who I know, and nothing happened," she said.
Not wanting to rock the boat, Eustace took out the juicy chapter during her gluten-free cookbook's final edit last year. But she could release the story at another time.
"I wanted to go in a different path and be civil. I just didn't want to add to any more problems," she explained, adding "we'll see" when asked if she would ever consider publishing it.
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Eustace and McDermott are currently at odds over the unemployed actor's $45,000 debt in child support and alimony payments.
