Secret Pain! Troubled Stassi's Sad Childhood Plagued By Divorce & Family Turmoil

Stassi Schroeder's tainted relationships can be traced back to her traumatic childhood, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal!

Her parents divorced when she was just six-years-old and subsequently remarried multiple times, according to New Orleans court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.

Dayna and Mark Schroeder tied the knot in a shotgun wedding in December 1987, and welcomed Stassi just six months later in June 1988. Dayna gave birth to Hunter in July 1990, but the couple was ready to call it quits by January 1994.

Mark filed for divorce in 1994, and asked for joint custody of Stassi and her brother. He was granted his request, but Dayna became the primary physical custodian of the children.

They decided that they each had the right to see their kids at least three nights per week, and "Dayna agreed that Mark may take the children to church on Sundays if he wishes."

Mark was ordered to pay for all day care and education expenses, and got to decide where Hunter and Stassi would attend school as a result.

They alternated holidays (including Mardi Gras) yearly, but if Mother's Day fell on Mark's birthday, he would get priority.

The couple also agreed that "neither parent shall move out of the greater New Orleans area until the children have attainted the age of eighteen." Mark still resides in the area, while Dayna now lives in Lake Arrowhead, Calif.

Mark then married Charlene Thian Schroeder in Las Vegas in 2001, and they appeared on the Amazing Race as a family with Stassi and Hunter. But, their relationship quickly turned volatile — and Charlene filed for divorce in 2009.

"Charlene Thian Schroeder has always been a dutiful and faithful wife, never giving her husband any cause whatsoever to mistreat her, abandon her or breach his marriage vows," she claimed in her petition for divorce. "Petitioner, Charlene Thian Schroeder, is free from fault in the breakup of this marriage."

"Defendant Mark Edward Schroeder, committed acts towards Petitioner, Charlene Thian Schroeder, as to render their living together insupportable as will be more particularly documented should the mater be set for trial," she added.

She asked for permanent spousal support, and filed a temporary restraining order to prohibit Mark from taking money out of their joint accounts.

In response, Stassi's dad denied any wrongdoing and claimed he was "free from fault in the deterioration of the marriage."

A bitter battle ensued —but their divorce was finally settled in October 2009. Charlene was granted $2,000 per month in spousal support for 6 months, and was denied permanent support. Mark was granted access to his accounts again.

Meanwhile, Dayna went on to remarry twice — and gave Stassi and Hunter two siblings, Georgianna and Nikolai. Nikolai, 11, frequently appears on Vanderpump Rules with Stassi, 28.

RadarOnline.com previously reported that Stassi and Patrick Meagher broke up over the summer after attempting to pursue a lengthy on-again-off-again relationship. Her struggles with Jax Taylor were also documented for the Bravo cameras.
