'Roseanne' Cancelled After Barr's Racist Twitter Scandal

Roseanne has officially been cancelled following actress Roseanne Barr's shocking racist Twitter scandal.
Minutes after RadarOnline.com exclusively reported the show would likely be shutting down due to the actress' offensive comments, the network announced they'd be pulling the plug after all.
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said today, May 28.
"They hoped her apology would allow them to weather the storm — and it's a massive storm," a source told RadarOnline.com earlier today. "But reaction from advertisers has been beyond anything they have ever seen. They are going to pull the show. And it will likely be cancelled."
"Roseanne is in a lot of trouble, the insider added, "but they can't go on without her. Any other ABC star would have already been fired."
Advertisers began boycotting the show after reading Barr's tweet, the source revealed, and her apology turned out to be insufficient after the havoc she caused.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the drama began when Barr, 65, attacked Barack Obama's former advisor, Valerie Jarrett, in a tweet social media users deemed extremely offensive and racist.
"Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj," Barr wrote.
"Muslims r NOT a race," she replied after Twitter haters slammed her for the insensitive remark. She later added that her comment was just a "joke," but fans didn't agree — and neither did ABC head honchos.
Afterwards, other actors, reporters, activists and fans immediately took to Twitter to voice their fury, with Roseanne head writer Wanda Sykes announcing she'd be leaving the show effective immediately.
"Wanda Sykes went straight to the top and said she won't work on Roseanne anymore and then made it clear that if they didn't cancel it she would never work with ABC again," the source told RadarOnline.com. "Even actors from other ABC shows are organizing boycotts!"
