Robin Wright 'Didn't Know' Kevin Spacey Before Sex Assault Scandal
July 9 2018, Updated 2:50 p.m. ET
About eight months after Kevin Spacey was let go from House of Cards following sexual assault claims, former costar Robin Wright is speaking out about the shocking scandal.
In a new interview with TODAY, the actress told reporter Savannah Guthrie that all she knew about Spacey, 58, before the allegations was that he was great at his job.
"Was there any kind of red flag, or anything that would have made you think this was possible?" askes Guthrie, 46.
"Kevin and I knew each other between action and cut, and in between setups where we would giggle. I didn't really…I didn't know the man. I knew the incredible craftsman that he is," answers Wright, 52.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, a series of men accused Spacey of having raped them and sexually assaulted them when they were young. Though the actor apologized, he also laughed off the issue, blaming his aggressive advances on booze.
"I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years," Spacey tweeted in November 2017 after former classmate Anthony Rapp accused him of raping him when he was underage.
Kevin Spacey is currently being investigated on three more counts of sexual assault.
Robin Wright's full interview will air later today.
