Robin Williams was known for his humor – but according to his old co-stars, the actor sometimes took his jokes too far, RadarOnline.com has leaarned.
In a shocking new biography obtained by RadarOnline.com, writer David Itzkoff revealed Williams often acted inappropriately on set by getting too sexual with his co-stars.
The famed comedian allegedly began this behavior on the set of one of his first shows, Mork & Mindy, said Itzkoff. His first alleged victim? His dear friend and co-star, Pam Dawber.
“He would take all his clothes off, he would be standing there totally naked and she was trying to act,” Itzkoff wrote. “His aim in life was to make Pam Dawber blush.”
The show’s director Howard Storm also remembered his outrageous behavior on set. Storm revealed the late comedian would at times hypersexualize his acting because he was “bored.”
“He’d be doing a whole paragraph, and in the middle of it, he would just turn and grab her a**,” Storm continued about Dawber. “Or grab a breast. And we’d start again. I’d say, ‘Robin, there’s nothing in the script that says you grab Pam’s a**.’ And he’d say, ‘Oh, okay.”
However, his wild behavior even continued off set. One time after filming Mrs. Doubtfire, Williams, who was dressed in female prosthetics for the role, tested his feminine look in San Francisco as a joke.
Williams went into a sex shop and attempted to buy a “double-headed dildo,” Itzkoff wrote.
Itzkoff then quoted the late actor asking the cashier: “I was going, ‘That one right there, the big one. Do you have anything without veins?’”
Itzkoff revealed the cashier finally recognized it was the comedian and told him to get out.
In addition to the actor’s funny moments, Itzkoff also expanded on some of his darker days. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, his confidante Billy Crystal described the comedian as “a scared man” in his final days.
