'RHONY' Cancelled? 'Disaster' Season Could Doom The Franchise

Could the first East Coast housewives franchise be finished? The latest season of Real Housewives of New York City is so boring, an insider told RadarOnline.com, producers are considering throwing in the towel and cutting the season short.
"They have been filming for weeks and still have no show," the source said. "It is starting to feel like a disaster."
Page Six first reported the rumors this past weekend, and an insider confirmed that the producers are talking about cutting the series down from the 20 episodes that ran last season.
Much of the problem is said to lie with the RHONY stars themselves. According to the insider, they've just been doing a whole lot of nothing this year!
"The problem is that no one except Countess LuAnn has a storyline," the source said. "Bethenny's divorce has been going on so long that it is no longer interesting. Carole's book with her boyfriend looks like it's never going to get published, and Sonja is still talking about launching a Tipsy Girl cocktail."
As RadarOnline.com reported, there are still a few buzzworthy scenes coming up, however.
One features Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel stripping down on the cast trip, and going streaking in the pool! Another moment catches her kissing Sonja Morgan in the same pool, after Morgan told her she was "pretty hot."
But one of the biggest story lines this season happens off-camera: LuAnn de Lesseps wedding day.
"The only story that they have is LuAnn's big wedding and she didn't allow the show's cameras inside to film it," the source told RadarOnline.com.
RadarOnline.com readers already know that RHONY ratings are on the steady decline, and insiders say that viewers aren't as interested in the ladies, compared with the women on the other franchises.
