Morgan Freeman's Step-Granddaughter Revealed 'Grandpa Feelings' Just Weeks Before Her Murder
Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter talked about having "grandpa feelings" just months before she was brutally murdered, RadarOnline.com has learned.
As RadarOnline.com reported, rumors the Oscar winner had a secret sexual affair with Edena Hines date back nearly a decade. Now, during the trial over her murder, text messages hinting at the illicit relationship have been revealed.
On July 3, 2015, about six weeks before she was killed outside her apartment building in Washington Heights, N.Y., Hines texted her boyfriend and alleged killer, rapper Lamar Davenport, to discuss some problems she was having with an older gentleman.
"I dont ask him for advice," Hines wrote. "He was calling to ask me . . . I blocked him for myself not for you because men who equal grandpa feelings dont need to be in my life at all."
At the time, Hines, 33, was discussing the future of her rocky relationship with Davenport, and the outside influence of another man.
In response, Davenport, 33, wrote, "When it comes to...your grandfather, there's a submissive love that will always be there."
At Davenport's trial in Manhattan Supreme Court on April 20, lawyers went a step further, asserting that Hines "disclosed to Lamar Davenport and others that her grandfather engaged in a sexually inappropriate relationship with her."
It's news RadarOnline.com first broke years ago, when a family friend revealed the affair between The Shawshank Redemption star and his 45-years-younger granddaughter.
The insider told RadarOnline.com when Harris was a teenager "she and Morgan went to dinner at a friend's house one evening. Both had been drinking, and when they returned home, Morgan attempted to have sex with her."

Their affair allegedly continued until Freeman began dating a stunning Los Angeles accountant named Ellie in 2012. It was that year when both Hines and the star publicly denied an affair amid the marriage reports.
Hines said, "These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family."
At the time, Freeman noted, "The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers. What is even more alarming is that these fabrications are now being picked up by the legitimate press as well."
Hines was the biological daughter of Deena Dair, whom Freeman and his first wife adopted as a child. They were not related by blood. The two have always vehemently denied any affair or sexual encounters.
According to police, Hines was stabbed 25 times in the neck, back and chest outside her home on August 16, 2015, at 2.50am.
Davenport's attorneys argue he is not guilty of the violent crime by reason of insanity because he was in the throes of a PCP-induced psychosis when the attack occurred.
