Mindy Kaling Refusing To Reveal Baby Daddy – Even To 'Close Friends'

No Strings Attached actress Mindy Kaling may have announced her pregnancy, but she is not telling anyone who her baby daddy is, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

"She just started telling her friends she is pregnant," a source recently told PEOPLE.

But "She is not telling anyone, not even close friends, who the father is," added the source.

The 38-year-old comedian is expecting her first child – yet as she is currently not dating anyone, pals have no idea who the father may be.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively revealed, the star herself may have no clue as to who the lucky man even is!

"Mindy doesn't know who the father is," a source close to the star claimed to RadarOnline.com.

Her love life has been all over the place and she can't quite place the guy to the time of conception," the source added. "So this is a hot mess."

The pregnancy came as an "unexpected surprise" to friends of the star, as she is currently prepping to star in two large upcoming films: A Wrinkle in Time and Ocean's Eight.

As RadarOnline.com has learned, the star has been thinking about kids for some time now, as in 2015 she jokingly confessed to Yahoo! Style: "I think I've decided that unlike everything else in my life, I'm going to be fast and loose about kids."

She added that she did not have a set plan in mind nor was she "cavalier about who" she would have a kid with.

As RadarOnline.com can report, the actress' late mom Swati died of cancer the day Fox picked up Kaling's hit show, The Mindy Project.

"Her no-nonsense attitude is the single best thing I got from her. We're hungry, ambitious people. It's a family trait," she said of her beloved mom.

Said a source: "Mindy's never felt the maternal urge, but she better get used to it, because it looks like there's a baby on board!"
