Katherine Jackson Plans To Celebrate Late Son Michael's 60th Birthday Despite Family Feuds
Katherine Jackson wants her entire family to come together tonight to celebrate her late son Michael's 60th birthday despite the feuds going on between the famous members, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
"Katherine is planning a get-together at the house, and she wants everyone to put their differences aside, just for today. That's what Michael would have wanted," a source close to the Jackson clan told RadarOnline.com.
The ailing matriarch, 88, wants to have an "extra special" bash to lift her spirits just weeks after her longtime husband Joe's death from cancer in June at 89.
"This is the first year Joe is gone, and it is really hard on her," the source explained.
However, she's not holding her breath waiting for a peaceful evening, given the family's history of squabbles.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Michael's daughter Paris, 20, has been fighting with her aunt Janet, 52, in recent weeks after the model accused the singer of not showing enough respect to her beloved grandfather during his last days. At the patriarch's funeral in July, the two refused to speak.
Now, mother of ten Katherine — who suffered a stroke in April — is leaning on her granddaughter and depending on her to bring everyone together.
"When Michael's birthday comes around, Paris likes to celebrate on her own usually," the source claimed. "But Katherine has asked Paris to please come and help out, so of course she is."
"Paris gets very emotional around her father's birthday, and this year is no different. She wants to be there for her grandmother as much as possible."
