Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, suffered from colon cancer, and quickly faded away. Michael Jackson’s father did not "even know what day it is or where he is most of the time,” an insider exclusively told RadarOnline.com. Tragically, Jackson, 89, refused to accept how sick he is. The National ENQUIRER first broke the news last year that Jackson was suffering from an aggressive form of colon cancer and trying to keep his struggle a secret from his family.
“They found a tumor,” a source said at the time, noting Jackson’s health was already precarious before the cancer diagnosis because he’s fought everything from a blood clot in his leg to three heart attacks and a stroke.
Jackson has a history of emotionally and physically abusing his talented brood, who had largely shunned him in recent years. “Joe realizes what he’s done and how difficult he’s been,” said the source.
However, revealed the insider, Jackson is suffering from dementia and often has trouble understanding the “seriousness of his health crisis.”
“He does not believe he is dying and thinks he will make a full recovery,” the insider told Radar.
“But doctors are expecting him to die within days,” continued the insider. “His body is shutting down and there is nothing the medical professionals can do.”
Jackson’s health decline and his fraught history with his loved ones “has caused a great deal of stress for the family,” the insider told Radar.
Katherine, Jackson’s wife, “doesn’t think he will live until Monday,” said a family source. “They are already planning his funeral.”
“He’s not in a hospital. He’s at home in Las Vegas,” said the family source. “He is sleeping a lot and crying a lot. He wants everyone around him.”
Jackson’s wife, Katherine, 87, has forgiven her husband for his past and is “sad,” noted the family insider of the matriarch, who recently suffered a stroke and his having trouble seeing and speaking.
