Crushed by mounting legal debts and alimony payments, cash-strapped Mel B is looking for a fat publishing payday — with a sizzling tell-all about her scandal-scarred year from hell!
Mel is peddling the memoir as the inside scoop on her dirty divorce from Stephen Belafonte — complete with details on the sex tapes, an alleged ménage à trois with the nanny, lesbian affairs, drugs, booze, abuse and more.
"She's been making notes, and has been approached about writing a memoir," a friend revealed of the former Scary Spice.
"The controversies and scandals of the past year are enough for most autobiographies — and Mel doesn't want to hold back!"
But her film producer ex, 42, is waging a desperate fight to muzzle his ex, and is expected to demand a "gag clause" that will prevent Mel from ever discussing him, said the friend.
"That will be fought over. Mel doesn't want to be restricted," the pal said.
Insiders reveal the 42-year-old America's Got Talent judge is suffocating in debt. Besides massive legal bills, she recently inked a settlement with Belafonte worth over $9.3 million.
As part of that deal, Mel must fork over $234,069 to cover Belafonte's legal fees, plus $15,114 a month for at least three years.
Recent reports claim Mel has burned through most of her $53 million fortune, and was pleading with her former Spice Girls bandmates for a reunion tour — even though Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham turned up her nose at the idea.

"Mel is now on a revenge mission to rebuild her life and fortune without Stephen weighing her down," revealed a business associate.
"Topping the agenda is her desire to re-form the Spice Girls , with or without Victoria, to celebrate the group's 25th anniversary in 2019."
Mel finally got a bit of good news when her fellow Spice Girls agreed to judge a Chinese reality show that aims to find "the next global pop star," an insider noted.
Besides her version of the Belafonte break-up, Mel's memoir is expected to detail her bisexual relationships, including a three-year "marriage" to film producer Christine Crokos.
She also fought a paternity battle over her daughter with Eddie Murphy, Angel, now 10 — and as RadarOnline.com previously reported, Mel has gotten cozy with fellow Talent judge Heidi Klum.
A source explained, "Giving the real deal on her relationship with Heidi would add a few zeros to her publishing advance for sure!"
