Officials discovered drug paraphernalia near Mark Salling's body after his shocking suicide, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
According to an insider connected to the investigation, items normally related to substance abuse were scattered close to the former Glee star's death scene, a remote wooded area near the Los Angeles River in Sunland.
However, there is no evidence Salling used drugs before taking his own life.
"The area is known to be frequented by drug users," the insider claimed.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to RadarOnline.com that the disgraced actor, 35, committed suicide by hanging in the early hours of January 30. His body was found hanging from a tree.
Salling was due in court for sentencing on child porn charges on March 7. He was anticipating up to seven years in prison for his crimes, to which he pleaded guilty.
A source told RadarOnline.com the actor was "miserable" and "isolated" in the months before his death.
