Christy Defends New Relationship After Ending Sexless Marriage: ‘I Always Loved Him!’
Christy McGinity filed for an annulment to end her sexless and allegedly abusive marriage to estranged husband Todd Gibel. The Little Women: LA star wasted no time moving on, as she began dating longtime friend Gonzo Carazo. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Christy and Gonzo defend their love despite the quick union.
“I always loved him, but it was a friendship love,” Christy, 41, explained in a video interview to RadarOnline.com, alongside her boyfriend. “We always said, ‘I love you.’ I noticed it became different was when I said ‘I…’ Then the next day we talked. I said, ‘I love you.’ And he said, ‘I love you too.’ That was the moment.”
Gonzo, 32, explained how the two had their first date when they took a beach trip together Memorial Day Weekend.
“We always had an attraction to each other,” she said, as Gonzo added, “We are nine years apart. Age is just a number. It turned into something else.”
Gonzo explained how he fell in love with her “heart.”
“We click,” he said. “Our similarities. I already knew she had kids. I know her kids. I knew about her previous relationships. Facetime helped out a lot!”
Although the two were coy when asked about marriage, they said she is open to moving to New York to be with him after one more season of LWLA.
“I always wanted one more kid,” she said, as Gonzo agreed he would like to be a father. “We better get to it because I’m almost 42! There’s so many different options.”
Although Christy’s daughter Autumn from a previous relationship is 19, Gonzo said he is open to adopting her.
“He’s friends with my kids,” she said. “I love their dynamic.”
Although Christy couldn’t discuss her relationship with Todd because of their ongoing legal battle, a source close to the Little Women: LA star exclusively told RadarOnline.com that it wasn’t hard for the reality star to move on so quickly.
“When you're so-called married for that long, but you’re living on separate floors, that’s not too quickly,” the insider said. “They were more roommates than anything. There was no love. It was roommates. It was hard and it was mean. She was a caretaker for him for a long time. She was his sugar mama! She worked and tried to ignore it. It got to the point where she couldn’t ignore him anymore.”
