With the anniversary of Elvis Presley's tragic death right around the corner, his troubled only child Lisa Marie is still haunted by it, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Lisa Marie—who is battling pill addiction, debt, and a nasty divorce from her husband—has revealed how she can never forget seeing her superstar dad dead shortly after his passing on Aug. 16, 1977.

"I don't like talking about this," Lisa Marie, the daughter of Priscilla Presley, said about the night Elvis died at his Graceland home. "It was 4 a.m. I was supposed to be asleep, actually. He found me."

Her father kissed her goodnight, which was "the last time I saw him alive."

Later, when she went to see Elvis, he was dead and being attended to by his last girlfriend, Ginger Alden.

He was lying face down on the red shag carpet next to the toilet in his bathroom.

Little Lisa Marie ran to the phone and called his former girlfriend, Linda Thompson, 68, who recalled that the girl screamed, "My daddy's dead! He's smothered in the carpet!"

But somehow, her dad's dead body comforted Lisa Marie.

"His body was in the house for three days and there was something very oddly comforting about that, which made it not necessarily real to me," Lisa Marie remembered.

She knew that Elvis' weight had soared before his death at age 42 and said, "I remember first seeing his stomach and worried to death over that."

Lisa Marie begged her father, "don't die" in poignant poems she wrote before his death.

An autopsy conducted on Elvis after his death ruled that rock ’n’ roll icon died of "cardiac arrhythmia," but many of those close to him have recalled his drug-wrecked final days.

Now 50, Lisa Marie said as a little girl she would "find him in these bad states. Out of nowhere, he would just start falling, and I'd have to go run around and catch him."

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Lisa Marie is in a legal battle with her former business manager Barry Siegel, blaming him for squandering her $100 million trust from her father and leaving her $16 million in debt.

But Siegel has blasted Lisa Marie back, suing her for $800 thousand he claims she still owes him!

Elvis' daughter is also fighting her estranged husband Michael Lockwood as the couple prepare for an August trial to end their fractured marriage.

Lisa Marie and Lockwood are at war over her vast wealth, which he claims she is hiding and she contends is drastically less than he knows because of bad business practices.

The King's only child is now trying to earn money by singing alongside Elvis' hologram.

Lisa Marie has taken her dad's song “When No One Stands Alone” vocals and added her own track to the mix—making it a father-daughter duet.

The song will be released this August to mark the 41st anniversary of Elvis' death.

“It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father,” Lisa Marie told reporters “The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”
