Jenelle Warns Leah: 'Stay Level-Headed' If You Want Your Kids Back

Leah Messer, 23, is waiting for a new custody hearing in the hopes that she can regain custody of her daughters Ali and Aleeah. No stranger to custody battles, her Teen Mom 2 costar Jenelle Evans, 23, told RadarOnline.com that Messer needs to stay focused if she wants to get them back.
"I would just say stay strong and level-headed," Evans said during an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com. "Just stay on the right path."
As RadarOnline.com first reported, a judge awarded Corey Simms, 26, weekday custody of the 5-year-old twins last month.
And over the past year, Messer has spent time in rehab for anxiety, depression and for what sources told RadarOnline.com is a not-so-secret pill problem.
Messer has never admitted she has an issue, but Evans — who had her own substance abuse battle with heroin — thinks it's about time for her costar to come clean about her dirty secrets.
"I think she should discuss her addiction battle," Evans said. "But at the same time, no one can force you to do anything. You have to be ready for it."
"You can't force people to go to rehab," she continued. "If you do force them, they'll do it like, 'Yeah, I'll do it to make you happy' and then they'll get out and probably do drugs again. They have to be ready themselves."
But if Messer can get back on track, Evans believes she has a chance of winning back custody of her girls.
"There is always time to change," she said.
In the meantime, Messer has to learn to co-parent with her exes Simms and Jeremy Calvert, 26.
"I would just tell them to just be civil and don't argue," Evans advised the group. "Keep the co-parenting going the right way."
