Kim Richards may be making a comeback on reality TV on The Mother/Daughter Experiment Celebrity Edition, but it's not going to be as simple as bickering with her costars.
Instead, RadarOnline.com has learned that Richards, 51, will face an emotional battle as she works to repair her broken relationship with her daughter Kimberly Jackson, 21.
In a preview for the season premiere, Richards and her daughter face some tough situations within their relationship.
"There's been good moments, there's been not so good moments," Richards confessed. "It's been a roller coaster ride. Being a part of the housewives has been an experience. It really hurt me because I was struggling with certain things."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the reality star was arrested last April for trespassing and battery while resisting an officer. The mother-of-four later checked into rehab to address her well-documented struggles with substance abuse.
"I feel like I'm her caretaker because she's fragile physically and emotionally, and it does overwhelm me," Jackson admitted.
This causes Richards to break down.
"I need to remember how my decisions do effect Kimberly," she said.
The show's on-air therapist Dr. Debbie Magids then probes into why Jackson feels responsible for her mother.
"Being on the show and hearing people talk bad about her, it's effected her a lot," Jackson explained. "And so I feel like somebody needs to protect her."
Richards then tries to clear the air and says that she has recovered from the pain she has endured over the past year.
"It is tough, I'm sure, to watch me get beat up by some of the girls on the show," she said. "But you know what? I get through it. I do. And I'm okay."
But the truth is that Richards still blames herself for causing drama in her daughter's life.
"I did the best that I could," she cried. "So to let me kids down in any way, is devastating."
In a previous clip, Jackson pled to her mother, "I want you to stay healthy always."
Clearly, these two have a lot to work on in order to fix their relationship.
The Mother/Daughter Experiment premieres March 1 at 10 PM ET on Lifetime.
