Kiefer Sutherland’s Girlfriend Cindy Vela Filed For Bankruptcy With Just $50 To Her Name!

Kiefer Sutherland and his girlfriend Cindy Vela finally made their romance public while on a date in London after keeping their relationship under the RadarOnline.com for four years, and now RadarOnline.com can exclusively expose the actor's girlfriend's troubled financial past — she filed for bankruptcy in 2011!

The ex music teacher had $50 to her name and was forced to file for personal bankruptcy, according to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.

The actress and model, whose had roles in relatively unknown productions, was nearly $20,000 in debt due to student loans and unpaid credit cards.

According to records the “self-employed model” wasn’t making enough money in Hollywood to pay her bills after three years since relocating from her home state of Texas. The 39-year-old beauty listed she earned $716 a month, but her expenses exceeded that at $845 a month.

Vela only had $50 in cash, $510 in bank accounts, and owned two dated Oldsmobile cars worth only $5,500 total.

She also took home a mere $8,000 in 2011.

At the time, she was living with relatives in Garden Grove, Calif., with no rent or other bills, per the documents.

Today, the silver lining is Sutherland's been a keeper, according to Vela's family.

“My parents and I have met Kiefer a couple of times,” said her brother Freddy Vela.

“They’re happy together.”

Freddy revealed the couple met when they visited the set of a music video directed by Vela's friend.

“The family approves. She is very happy,” added Freddy of his sister, who has been traveling with her 51-year-old beau’s band on a European tour.

“We are completely supportive of them. He’s made her very, very happy.”
