Katy Perry Claims Dr. Luke Did Not Rape Her In Shocking Unsealed Testimony
Katy Perry claimed music producer Dr. Luke did not rape her, and Kesha’s public statements about the alleged rape were false in shocking court testimony obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com.
The pop superstar testified on July 21, 2017 in connection to Kesha's sexual assault case against her former music producer.
In her testimony, Katy Perry, whose real name is Katheryn Hudson, testified she was aware that Kesha made statements to the press that Dr. Luke had raped her. While most of the transcript has been redacted under court order, portions of Perry’s testimony revealed shocking details:
Q: Did Dr.Luke ever rape you?
KP: No.
Q: Did Dr.Like ever sexually assault you?
KP: Absolutely not.
Q: Did he ever give you a roofie?
KP: No.
Q: Did you have a sexual relationship with Dr.Luke at all.
KP: No.
Q: A romantic relationship?
KP: No.
Q: So Ms.Sebert’s (Kesha) statement that Dr.Luke raped you is false?
KP: Yes, ma’am.
Perry went on to say that she has never joked around and has never told anyone that Dr. Luke had raped her or assaulted her, which goes against statements Kesha previously made.
Perry’s transcripts were a part of more than a dozen testimonies that were released by a New York court late Monday, Aug. 27, 2018.
In response to the release of Katy Perry’s deposition and others, Dr.Luke’s legal team said Kesha had created a “false narrative," which has tarnished the music producer’s name irreparably:
“Katy Perry testified under oath in this case that Dr. Luke never raped her. Regardless, Kesha refused to apologize. Instead, she issued a press release which again irresponsibly suggested that Katy Perry was actually raped by Dr. Luke. It seems like that Kesha wanted to perpetuate the falsehood that Dr.Luke raped Katy Perry."
“There is nothing worse than abuse and sexual assault. Dr. Luke supports any woman or man who seeks to address sexual abuse in the legal system. That is not what happened her. It is also horrendous to falsely accuse someone of a heinous act, that is what happened here. Kesha’s voluntarily dismissed rape claim has caused great harm to Dr.Luke, his family and his business."
Perry previously tried to keep her testimony under seal. However, a judge ruled that part of the deposition would be made public.
