Derick Dillard's firing from Counting On isn't helping his potential feud with the Duggar family. RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the family is divided after the harsh comments he made against trans star Jazz Jennings got him fired from the series.
"Derick is really having a hard time," a family insider told RadarOnline.com. "They are extremely careful to not criticize each other. He wasn't trying to hurt Jazz. She just conflicted with his belief system and he reacted without thinking it through."
Although his wife Jill Duggar "wants to support her husband through a trying time," the same can't be said for her family.
"There's a lot of outrage between increasingly divided factions," the source revealed.
While the insider insisted there isn't a "family feud," the Duggar's aren't as close.
"A lot of times when you live apart from the people you love it takes time to adjust back to your original lifestyle," the source said. "Including family."
As readers know, TLC cut ties with Dillard when he slammed the I Am Jazz star in a second rant.
"I pity Jazz,"Dillard, 28, tweeted of Jennings, who was diagnosed with gender identity disorder at 4 years old and transitioned from a male to a female. "4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child. It's sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what's on TV these days."
Hours later, TLC tweeted: "We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future. We want to reiterate that Derick's personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so."
There have been rumors of a family feud between Dillard and his in-laws before the scandal broke.
At Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell's wedding in September, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's son-in-laws Ben Seewald, Jeremy Vuolo and Austin Forsyth sat next to each other behind the groom's parents, while Dillard sat on the other side of the church, Life is Not All Pickles and Hairspray reported.
Dillard has been absent from The Duggar's official Facebook page since August 4. Jill and their son Israel have been featured on the page.
Seewald, who is married to Jessa, Vuolo, who is married to Jinger, and Austin, who is married to Joy-Anna, have all been mentioned on the blog in recent weeks.
