Jen Still Trapped In Honeymoon Hell — Almost One Year After Her Split With Justin
Jennifer Aniston just can’t escape the pain of her broken marriage to Justin Theroux!
The Friends star, 49, has been rocked by new heartache after learning the trial focusing on the wrongful death of one of the guests at their fairy-tale honeymoon in 2015 will haunt her for at least another year.
The parents of 28-year-old Carmel Musgrove — who drowned during the A-listers’ getaway in Bora Bora — filed the suit against Aniston and Theroux’s friends, heavyweight Hollywood producer Joel Silver and his personal chef, Martin Herold.
But Herold — who pals said has a “different version” of the tragic events — has fled to his native France, delaying the trial from February to June 2019.
According to documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Silver’s overworked assistant, Carmel, drank and did drugs with Herold at his bungalow on Aug. 18, 2015, after the chef purchased a gram of cocaine while on the island.
Her nude body was later found lifeless in a lagoon, and an autopsy determined she died from a combination of drowning and the effects of the drugs and alcohol.
“Jennifer desperately wants this tragic situation resolved as soon as possible, and she was devastated to learn it’s going to be dragged out,” said a source.
The distraught Musgroves will fight “tooth and nail” to make sure Aniston and Theroux, 47, are held accountable for any role they may have played in their daughter’s death, said insiders.
“Privately, Jen has sent out a desperate appeal through mutual friends for Martin to come forward, but has had no luck,” according to a source. “Without him this case is at a stalemate.”
