Brainwashed Cult Victim India 'Beginning To Remember Details' After Escaping NXIVM
India Oxenberg is on the mend after years of alleged abuse and brainwashing, the young NXIVM sex cult victim's grandmother told RadarOnline.com exclusively at a New York court hearing on Thursday, September 13.
“She’s beginning to remember details that obviously were hidden in the subconscious," Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview outside the courtroom. "It’s interesting. I never knew this could happen with brain tampering."
Actress Catherine Oxenberg's 27-year-old daughter is now undergoing treatment after RadarOnline.com exclusively reported she had escaped the cult.
“She did speak to a wonderful woman who is a deprogrammer," Princess Elizabeth said. "She’s very, very, very bright, and helped her a great deal, and she’s helping other people."
She also confirmed the survivor is once again close to her mother after years of estrangement.
"I just know that India and her mother are very close again, and we’re very relieved and grateful for that."
In the Dynasty actress' new memoir, she claimed she once feared her sick, starved daughter would even commit suicide for the cult.
While Oxenberg is free to pursue a normal life, alleged NXIVM masterminds Keith Raniere, Allison Mack, Clare Bronfman, Lauren Salzman and Kathy Russell were present in Brooklyn Federal Court for a status hearing. Nancy Salzman was absent from the hearing due to a recent surgery.
Tensions were high among the U.S. attorneys and the defendants’ attorneys due to accusations about scheduling and delays, but former Smallville actress Allison Mack appeared a bit happier as she walked in the courtroom.
As RadarOnline.com first reported, a judge recently signed off on her request to attend college courses and church.
In the courtroom, Raniere's lawyer Marc Agnifilo said prosecutors have gathered what is equivalent to “144 library floors” of data from searches to the defendants’ homes and NXIVM buildings

Agnifilo said he believes a majority of the materials are videotapes.
“They videotape everything,” Raniere’s lawyer said of NXIVM. “If Keith was speaking they’d videotape it. I’m guessing that the 144 library floors isn’t all email. It’s videotapes. We don’t need to go through 144 library floors.”
Raniere’s lawyers told the judge the case is not as much about discovery as it is about “witnesses.” He argued that the government’s seizure of discovery materials is “going to be irrelevant.”
The US Attorneys disagreed with Agnifilo’s claims. Attorney Moira Penza claimed the reason there’s been a delay in not dispersing all of the discovery is because Nancy Salzman is claiming the government may have interfered with privilege rights. The government will have to ensure they are not imposing on her privacy and privilege rights before putting forth more discovery.
The goal to release all discovery by December, U.S. attorney Moira Penza said.
Penza added that it is “highly likely” the government will add additional charges to defendants.
As for potential additional defendants, the US attorney said that is an “ongoing investigation.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Mack and Raniere face 15 years to life behind bars for allegedly kidnapping and sex trafficking female slaves in the cult. Both pleaded not guilty in the case.
Raniere remains in custody with no bail, while Mack is living at home with her parents in California.
