Hoda Kotb's is already starting to feel the heat in her new hot seat gig, and now RadarOnline.com can reveal the pressures from the coveted position are already having a serious affect on her personal life.
As the new main anchor of the TODAY show, Kotb, 53, is beside herself as she gears up to leave her adopted baby daughter behind in order to cover the Olympics in South Korea.
"Hoda doesn’t know what to do with her beautiful baby girl when she goes to South Korea for two weeks to host The TODAY Show coverage of the Olympics," an insider reveals, further adding the TV personality has been faced with a decision she never dreamed she'd have to make: "Should she take the baby with her or leave her safe at home in the USA?"
The mommy-daughter duo daughter have never been apart for anywhere near this long, says the source. "Haley always travels with her mommy but talking a baby to South Korea for two weeks doesn’t seem right,."
Ultimately, the informant reveals the NBC anchor decided to leave Haley behind but is "riddled with grief and feels terribly guilty" as a result.
"These sort of decisions were not a concern when Hoda just hosted a fun hour with Kathie Lee Gifford. "But now she is the main anchor with NBC News and can expect to be doing a lot more traveling," snitches the source.
"It will kill her to be away from the kid that she fought so hard to have but she doesn’t feel like she has a choice. Hoda wanted this job and will now have to make both it and motherhood work.”
This isn't the first time Kotb has felt pressures from the peacock network in matters involving her personal life. As RadarOnline.com previously reported exclusively, the protective mother was hesitant to feature Haley on live television but was pressured to do so by TODAY producers.
Kotb brought little Haley on camera and cuddled her as fans got a first look at her face just months after she was born on Valentine's Day 2017!
But there was controversy about this move behind the scenes as “Hoda got pressure from producers at TODAY show to have her daughter appear live on the show,” the source told RadarOnline.com at the time.
“When the baby arrived, everyone that went to visit was asked to not post pictures of her face,” the source said. “Pictures Hoda placed on Instagram were carefully taken so you could only see the back of her daughter’s head.
“Now after all this careful hiding – she’s on the Today Show!”
