Bad Liar! The Real Reason Selena & Justin Skipped The Grammys

Justin Bieber was a no-show at last night's Grammy Awards in N.Y.C., even though the 25-year-old singer was nominated for three huge awards for his latest album, "Despacito"!

But after Bieber blamed his and girlfriend Selena Gomez's conspicuous absence on his "new music," RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the real reason the duo did not attend was so they would avoid a run-in with her estranged ex!

"Justin and Selena both were well aware of the fact that her ex The Weeknd was nominated for a Grammy, and they also knew that he would probably win," a source close to the "Slow Down' singer said.

"They are doing everything they can to avoid The Weeknd because neither of them knows how to approach it if they do see him."

As RadarOnline.com reported, The Weeknd — who won a Grammy on Sunday for Best Contemporary Urban Album for "Starboy" — was infamously dumped by Gomez after she got back with The Biebs late last year.

"Selena doesn't ever want to face him because she knows that she used him and he knows now that he meant nothing to her," the insider told RadarOnline.com, adding, "The Weeknd just feels like he was a rebound to begin with."

"And as far as Justin goes, he lied to The Weeknd about his intentions with Selena before he stole her back," added the source. "They were both lying to him."
