But the 27-year-old “Starboy” singer, who was “completely caught off guard” by the split, isn’t going down without a fight — and just took to Instagram to throw some SERIOUS shade at Gomez and and her new man! The Weeknd posted this photo on his Instagram last night and, from the looks of it, he didn’t seem to be bothered by his breakup with Gomez. However, The Weeknd was wearing the EXACT same jacket as Bieber, 23, wore to Gomez’s birthday party in 2015, and the internet nearly exploded with fans' comments!
“Selena says that she and Justin are just friends, but everyone knows that it is just a matter of time before they are back together,” a friend of Gomez said.
Gomez didn’t look at all upset by the breakup and went out on a bicycle ride yesterday to play at a nearby schoolyard with excited and obviously surprised young fans! According to the insider, “After her kidney transplant, Selena is just so happy to be alive and live life.”
As fans know, Gomez reunited with Bieber last week — but insisted to pals that the relationship was strictly platonic. “Selena said that she is helping Justin find God and her family is super skeptical. They think that Justin only went holy-roller to win her back,” the source told RadarOnline.com. When this photo was taken, the reunited superstars were on a Sunday that included breakfast, shopping and church.
However, after Bieber was spotted on Monday morning leaving her house wearing the exact same outfit as the day before, it is obvious why The Weeknd is upset! “Selena basically just cut him off after she hung out with Justin again,” the source claimed.
“She didn’t call The Weeknd or text him to officially end things and he thinks it is super shady,” the insider added.
