Friends Fear Boozy Ben's New Movie Will Lead To Relapse

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Booze-hound Ben Affleck's new movie hits too close to home for his friends' comfort, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively!

The 46-year-old Batman actor, who just completed his fourth in-patient rehab stint in two years, is set to play an alcoholic former high school basketball star who wrecked his career and marriage — in a movie tentatively and ironically titled The Has-Been!

"Ben has his heart set on winning another Oscar," a source snitched. "He can identify with the character's tortured soul."

A little too much, according to insiders.

"This guy is like the mirror image of Ben," said the source. "This role will pull him straight back into the dark hole  he's trying to pull himself out of!"

As RadarOnline.com has reported, Affleck's battle with booze, women and gambling have left his 13-year-marriage to Jennifer Garner in shambles and has put his career on life support.

After an August bender, his now ex-wife issued Affleck an ultimatum to check into rehab and sober up — or stay away from their three kids, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Sam, 6.

"Ben sees this as his big comeback," the source confessed. "But everybody's afraid this movie will be way too emotionally damaging for him."
