Demi Lovato’s family is not taking the troubled singer's drug overdose lightly.
Six days after she was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in dire straits, RadarOnline.com has learned the relapsed star is still in the medical facility — and her family is considering obtaining a legal conservatorship!
Lovato's mother Dianna Hart 'is talking about getting a conservatorship because she does not trust Demi with anything at the moment," an insider told Radar. "She feels like this is the only thing she can do to ensure her daughter will not make the same mistake again."
Though no legal moves have yet to be made, “one thing is certain — Dianna will do whatever it takes," the insider continued. "She refuses to let her daughter die."
Though Lovato was originally going to be released late last week, the source said the admitted addict's stay was extended to address her ongoing mental health issues.
As Radar previously reported, Lovato initially agreed to go to rehab for long-term treatment— but now, the insider claimed she's been "uncooperative:"
“She still poses a risk to herself."
And to make matters worse, a war has erupted between Lovato’s concerned family and her inner circle of hard-partying pals.
“Demi’s enabler friends are still allowed access to her, and the family wants to shut this down,” the insider told Radar.
A rep for Lovato has not yet responded to Radar's request for comment, but a second source close to the situation says the conservatorship claim is "not true."
Britney Spears has infamously been under her father Jamie's conservatorship since 2008, when she was hospitalized following numerous public breakdowns.
Over the past ten years, she has found stability, and shares custody of her kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
