Road To Recovery: Demi Lovato Checks Into Rehab For 3-Month Treatment After OD
Feb. 25 2019, Updated 11:50 a.m. ET
Demi Lovato is on the road to recovery after her terrifying drug overdose last month.
The troubled singer, 25, has left the hospital and checked into rehab outside of Los Angeles — and she's expected to stay for three months, a source told RadarOnline.com.
RadarOnline.com was first to report that Lovato was heading to treatment outside of southern California, where she's surrounded by temptations and bad influences.
"Demi wanted to go to rehab for a few weeks, but her mom insisted on at the very least, 30 days," the source explained. "However, she is scheduled to stay for 90 days."
The source noted that Lovato will not be held against her will, and unfortunately for her family, could check out early.
As RadarOnline.com extensively reported, Lovato nearly died during the July 24 crisis, and was revived with Narcan, which treats opiate overdoses.
After two weeks of silence, she spoke out in a statement on Instagram last night.
"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet…I will keep fighting," she said.
