July 25 2018, Updated 12:11 a.m. ET
Demi Lovato is "awake" after she overdosed on Tuesday and her family is urging people not to buy into the rumors of the troubled singer's condition.
“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” Lovato’s rep said in a statement to Variety.
“Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
The 25-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 for a suspected overdose after friends made a panicked 9-1-1 call to desperately save her life.
The caller told the operator she was “unconscious” as the ambulance rushed to her Hollywood Hills home help her.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Los Angeles cops and firefighters swarmed the troubled singer’s home after receiving a distress call at 11:30 am this morning.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Ray Brown told RadarOnline.com exclusively: “Police received a call at 11:37 am of a possible OD of a 25-year-old female in Hollywood.”
She was transported to a local hospital, and is recovering.
The star relapsed on drugs and alcohol after six years sober earlier this year, RadarOnline.com previously reported.
She admitted the relapse in her new song, “Sober.”
“Demi relapsed about two months ago because she stopped the accountability portion of her recovery,” one source told RadarOnline.com in June.
The source said she’s been “off the rails” ever since.
