The Weeknd's Abu Dhabu gig erupted into chaos – after frustrated fans were locked-out of the venue.

Hundreds of fans of the singer were left fuming after they were denied entry prompting reports of 'inappropriate behavior'.

FLASH Entertainment, the promoters behind the Yasalam post-race concerts, explained that a number of fans arrived at once and a decision was made to close the gates for safety reasons.

And concert bosses condemned reports of fans storming the gates to gain entry to the Du Arena gig.

Their statement read: "Health and safety is our number one concern. Du Arena can easily accommodate 35,000 people. A large number of fans arrived simultaneously to The Weeknd concert and gates were closed for safety. We understand this is disappointing and frustrating. It is disappointing to hear there were instances of inappropriate fan behavior. The necessary teams are working to ensure a smooth and safe entry ahead of the following concert."

Despite the entry issues thousands of Abu Dhabi music fans enjoyed The Weeknd's gig, the second in the post-race concert series this weekend.
